Kai was sitting in the living room when Sara got back to the dorm. A single glance at her face was enough to let him know that she was pissed off. He had heard about her escape into the forest to get away from Eddie, and he was surprised she was back in one piece. She had successfully dodged the three-hour service, but that didn't mean her difficulties were over. When Eddie had claimed her to serve him, Kai had been ready to offer his help. If she gave in to him, he would help her avoid the service. But by the time he went looking for her, she had already escaped into the forest. Now, she was back, and didn't look at all relieved that she had avoided the service.
