449: STORM OF WORDS
LUKE'S POV
The two women's words cut through the bar's noise, and it was irritating as hell. These were the types of people who were good at talking nonsense.
I turned to face them, my jaw clenching with frustration and anger. How dare they spread such false accusations?
"Excuse me?" "I said, my voice tight with barely contained fury."
The first woman, a middle-aged lady with a sour expression, sneered at me. "You heard me," she replied, her tone dripping with disdain. "You caught her red-handed with that woman over there, and now you're acting as if nothing's going on between you two." But who knows what you might do after you leave this place?"
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut, fueling the fire of rage burning within me. "Listen here," I began, my voice dangerously low. "If you have something to say to me, say it straight to my face."
