422: HEARTBREAK ON THE HORIZON
ARIEL'S POV
Reading the text from Andre, my heart sank into the pit of my stomach. The words on the screen sent a shockwave through my entire body, and I felt a wave of panic wash over me. How could he send me something like this? How could he even think of doing something so drastic?
I glanced up to see Luke watching me with a furrowed brow, his concern evident in his eyes. "Who's calling?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. But I couldn't bring myself to tell him the truth, not when the situation was already so delicate. Instead, I simply shook my head and replied, "No one is important."
With a heavy heart, I made my way to my closet and pulled out a simple dress, too preoccupied with my thoughts to pay much attention to my appearance. As I slipped it on, I turned to Luke and said, "I'm leaving."
