Chapter 49

Jake's POV Hunter lunged for Wayne, the sight of him touching our mate sent him into overdrive. I could see he was stitching her wound shut to help it heal but Hunter was blinded with too much rage and didn't care for his reasons. "Hunter NO" Angel shouted as she shoved him away blocking his path to Wayne. Forcing the shift back into human form I grabbed a blanket from the floor and wrapped it around my bottom half. Walking over to Angel I glared at Wayne as I remembered he was present in the room while Nick was tortured, doing nothing to help him remaining in the shadows. As I kneeled in front of her Wayne stepped out of arms reach sensing the anger flowing from my alpha aura. Inspecting Angel's wound I was surprised she hadn't been killed. The incision must have been four inches deep, she was lucky as had it been an inch to the right it would have hit her liver. Any stab wound to this area could be fatal even for a werewolf, you could bleed out before our wolves had a chance to heal
