Chapter 14

Shit! Everything was going to hell! Blake shook his head. He didn't plan on stopping Thaddeus. Of course, he wouldn't have succeeded in stopping him in the first place. After all, no one in this world could stop Thaddeus Blackwell from doing whatever he wanted. Silence fell in the meeting room. No one knew that Newtropolis was about to be met with a calamity. But once the calamity passed, everything would begin anew. Even King Cedric looked at Blake nervously. "What should we do next, Mr. Garett?" Blake turned to look at King Cedric. He sighed before saying, "We don't have a choice, Your Majesty. Even if we were to set off to Newtropolis and stop Thaddeus right now, it'd be too late for us. "Thaddeus… He hails from the great Blackwell family, whose members are equipped with outstanding medical skills. They were the epitome of benevolent saints in Chernea back then. But five years ago, most of the family members were annihilated. That incident has buried a seed of hatred in Thaddeus. "Since his wife and daughter have been oppressed and bullied for five years, we should just let him vent his rage after all this time. "You should head over to Newtwropolis. Remember. You mustn't fight him head-on." King Cedric nodded. He thumped his chest confidently. "Understood. I'll definitely deal with this matter properly." Immediately after that, King Cedric hurried to Newtropolis as quickly as he could. He couldn't be late no matter what. … After Atlas gave out all of his orders, he approached Paul's corpse slowly. Based on his experience as a doctor, Paul's body was already reduced to a pile of flesh and broken bones. No doctor in this world could revive him. Atlas stopped before Paul, his expression stony. He fell down to his knees, his voice tinged with sobs. "Thank you… You've taken care of my wife and daughter for five years. At first, I wanted to take you in and let you live out the rest of your life comfortably…" To Atlas, Paul was akin to his father whom he had only met once simply due to his acts of benevolence toward Tabitha and Stacy. After all, he gave them a second chance in life. Moreover, Paul used his life to grant Stacy a chance to continue living in this world. He might be an ordinary old man, but he deserved to be commemorated as a hero of this world. Atlas used his hands to dig a pit in the ground. He wanted to bury Paul in the junkyard. While he was in the midst of digging up a pit, most of Alan's subordinates had him surrounded. Farion approached Atlas and stopped next to him. He let out a cold huff. "Atlas Blackwell, my sworn brother did give you time to call your backups. Instead of contacting them, you're wasting your time digging a pit." Naturally, Atlas tuned out Farion's words. To him, Farion was just a weak nobody. Farion continued coldly, "Since you insist on digging a pit, you might as well dig two more for you and your daughter. Oh, right! You should dig another pit for Tabitha. I almost forgot about her." Atlas continued to ignore him. He didn't know if Stacy would blame him for Paul's death after waking up. Despite being the best doctor in the world, he was still unable to save Paul's life. Stacy would definitely tell him that he was a useless father. "What a loser," she'd say. Atlas turned around to address Ian. "Tell our men to come here tomorrow and rebuild this area into a cemetery. Remember. This old man is the only one who gets to rest in this junkyard." Upon noticing Atlas' lack of response, Farion completely lost his patience. He aimed a kick at Atlas immediately. But before his foot could strike Atlas, a figure instantly appeared in front of him. He moved so quickly that he resembled a bolt of lightning moving across the ground. It was Ian. Although he was still carrying Stacy, his demeanor was still intimidating. He responded by kicking Farion as well. A loud thud sounded. Both legs collided with each other under the night sky. Farion had always thought of himself as an expert fighter. After all, he did win multiple championships in the underground fighting ring. Dozens of people died from his punches in the past. Having noticed Ian's powerful stance, Farion pursed his lips together. He retracted his leg before throwing a punch instead. The switch was done in an instant. "You're protecting him? I see you're eager to die!" Farion roared. Everyone thought of this kerfuffle as a passing drama. Since Farion was about to make his move, that meant Ian would die a grisly death. But the moment Farion threw out his punch, Ian huffed. "I'll play with you, then." He carried Stacy with one hand and balled up his other fist. Another loud thud sounded a moment later. Farion's arm was torn into shreds. His bones rattled loudly before getting destroyed to smithereens. As a result, Farion coughed out a mouthful of blood. He stared at Ian in shock. "Your strength… Are you a Supreme Warlord?" Faron couldn't believe that the person hanging around Atlas possessed the strength equivalent to a Supreme Warlord. In that case, just how strong was Atlas? Was he a Supreme Warlord as well? Ian couldn't be bothered to deal with Farion. He visibly relaxed when he saw Stacy still unconscious in his arms. Farion turned around instantly. "Alan, Atlas' mutt is very strong. We need to be careful." But Alan—from his chair—disregarded Ian's strength. He chuckled coldly instead. "What's the point of being strong? All of Abyssal Gates' members are about to gather in this place. This world belongs to our organization! No matter how strong that mutt is, is he strong enough to avoid bullets?" The other subordinates began laughing as well. "He's just a Supreme Warlord! We can just slay him when the time comes!" "What Abyssal Gates needs is an extremely intimidating reputation! I think slaying the Supreme Warlord is the best way of gaining such a reputation!" "That's a good idea! Don't worry, Farion! We'll avenge you!" Alan looked at his watch. He had to tide over the shock he had felt when he first witnessed Ian's power. At the same time, he knew Atlas didn't have much time left. Thus, he picked up his metal pipe and approached Atlas once again. "My brothers from Abyssal Gates, besiege them!" The members of Abyssal Gates and the Dawson family's men stood around Atlas and Ian immediately. They began chanting, "Mr. Dawson, kill him!" "Kill the father and daughter pair, Mr. Dawson!" "Please give Tabitha to us when the time comes, Mr. Dawson! She's known for her beauty, after all!" Alan stopped before Atlas. He pointed the metal pile at the latter while laughing at the top of his lungs. "Atlas Blackwell, you really are a useless father! How are you going to protect your daughter like this? It's been two hours, yet you never called for any backups! "Now, I'm going to beat your daughter to death right in front of your eyes!" Atlas turned around to glare at Alan, causing the latter's heart to tremble in fright. His glare intimidated Alan. Could a human being look that fearsome? Alan thought he could see the most terrifying devil crawling out of the pits of hell. Even the other demons were afraid of it. Right now, said devil was staring at him unblinkingly. Atlas slowly stood up. He made sure to pat the soil away. Stacy and Tabitha were shunned, humiliated, and beaten up by everyone over the past five years. They lived like sewer rats, who could only survive on scraps in the darkness. Whenever they smiled, there was a trace of bitterness in them. They were constantly stained with the rotten stench of garbage to the point that they could never get rid of the smell. Now that Atlas was finally back, someone else was threatening to kill Stacy right in front of him. Did Alan really think Atlas would let him do that? Atlas continued to stare at Alan. His enraged words tumbled out of his mouth. "Lay a finger on my daughter, I dare you." Alan couldn't help but laugh maniacally. He roared to his subordinate, "How naive! He seriously thinks I don't have the balls to lay a finger on them! Hahaha! Brothers, tell him! Do I have the balls to kill them?" Everyone began laughing loudly. "Go to hell, Atlas Blackwell!" "Pay the price with your blood!" "Abyssal Gates will be reformed today!" Their shouts reverberated through the junkyard. Alan pointed the metal pipe at Atlas. "My men are right here! What can you possibly use to protect your daughter? You think you and your Supreme Warlord buddy are capable of protecting her?" Atlas gazed at the distant horizon. At that moment, the beacon tower of Newtropolis burned brightly like a comet streaking across the night sky. Next, Jedah's beacon tower joined the fray. Harville's beacon tower was lit up, too. Countless beacon towers were lit up in an instant. The entire night sky was soon illuminated by the flames. Even the storm was dispelled. Once all beacon towers were lit, Atlas approached Alan. "Are you sure you want to beat my daughter to death right in front of me?"
