Chapter 8: World-class Surgery

"I don't want to disturb you, but..." Elizabeth felt that the voice sounded familiar. Almost instinctively, she stopped what she was doing and looked up, following the voice. Under the light. Sandra's long hair rested neatly on her shoulders, revealing her delicate and beautiful face. Her red lips parted slightly. "But if you continue like this, Mr. Victor Cooper will die within ten minutes." Disgust welled up in Elizabeth's heart instantly. Her pretty eyes were filled with coldness and hatred. She yelled in anger. "Watch your language!" Hailey was also at the door, and when she saw Emily, her pupils suddenly contracted. "Wesley, why did you bring her here?" Samuel came out. He was an international medical expert who used to specifically deal with Wesley's condition. Today, Victor passed out, and he was invited over. He had heard about Wesley waking up, but he thought it was because his treatment methods had worked, not because of Sandra. Now, seeing Sandra with his own eyes, he was arrogant. Sandra seemed to be just around twenty years old. How could she possibly wake Wesley up? It was ridiculous! "Madam Cooper, is this the person who stole my credit?" Hailey felt ashamed when she heard this. So when she looked at Sandra again, she snorted in disgust. "Get out of here!" Sandra ignored Samuel completely. There were so many people in the room. It was annoying. She said in a cold voice, "If you want Mr. Victor Cooper to live, let me perform the surgery. Otherwise, start arranging the funeral!" Hailey roared, "Who do you think you are? How dare you speak like this!" In a fit of anger, Sandra retorted directly. "Are you sure you want to discuss my identity when your son's life is hanging in the balance?" Hailey's face turned red. Then, Sandra gave a friendly reminder. "Mr. Victor Cooper has less than five minutes left." "How dare you curse Victor!" If Hailey had a stronger constitution, she would have come over and slapped her. Sandra wasn't in the mood to argue with her. She glanced at her watch. Her tone was calm. "Two and a half minutes." With that, she held onto the wheelchair. In fact, she regretted it. If she had known it would be so troublesome, she would have chosen another approach. Wesley looked at the busy medical staff in the room and suddenly spoke up. "Do you have confidence?" Sandra replied calmly, "He'll be as good as new in a month at the latest." Everyone gasped. She was so arrogant! Elizabeth almost burst out laughing. "Even Dr. Whitman doesn't dare guarantee it. How dare you..." Before she finished her sentence, Sandra suddenly raised her hand. Elizabeth thought she was going to compromise. She sneered, "It's too late for you to..." But before she finished speaking, Sandra slowly put five fingers out. It was only then that everyone reacted. She wasn't compromising but indicating a number. Just then, she lowered a finger. Now it was 4. Elizabeth froze, and her face turned pale. When Sandra slowly lowered her last finger, a shrill alarm suddenly sounded from the medical equipment in the room. Everyone's faces turned pale. Samuel and Elizabeth hurriedly ran towards the room. Anxious voices came out. "Pacemaker!" "Defibrillator!" "Dr. Whitman, the blood oxygen level is dropping." "Dr. Whitman, the heartbeat is almost gone!" The medical staff panicked. Compared to the anxious medical staff inside the room and the worried people outside, Sandra remained calm and indifferent. It was as if it had nothing to do with her. Wesley clenched his fists and called Leo over. "Clear the area!" Leo instinctively glanced at Sandra. Then he called the bodyguards in. In the blink of an eye, the yard was surrounded by bodyguards, and no one could move. Just as everyone was about to make a fuss, Wesley glanced around with murderous intent in his eyes. "Shut up!" His imposing aura choked the breath out of everyone. The crowed fell silent. Wesley looked at Sandra. "Go operate on my father." Sandra asked, "What if someone stops me?" Wesley said through gritted teeth, "Anyone who stops you is against the Cooper family!" Hailey, who was about to step forward to scold Wesley, was stunned and then trembled with anger. Sandra nodded, "Alright." She walked towards the room. Debra wanted to stop her at the door. But Wesley shot her a cold glance. It seemed that if she dared to say a word, he would kill her on the spot. Debra's heart trembled, and she didn't dare to move anymore. Sandra went to the bedside and glanced at the next room. "Push him into this operating room." Elizabeth had been paying attention to her every move out of jealousy and anger. Now, when she heard what Sandra said, she was a little surprised. If Sandra really didn't have medical skills, how could she dare to perform the surgery? Wasn't she afraid? But Elizabeth had no sympathy for Sandra. Now Victor's condition was hopeless for her and Samuel. If she could pin Victor's death on Sandra, it would be a good thing. "You, push Mr. Victor Cooper in!" Before Samuel could speak, Elizabeth gave the order. Sandra knew what she was thinking and gave her a mocking smile. Then she walked into the operating room. Suddenly, she turned her head and looked at Elizabeth. "I need an assistant. Come on." Elizabeth gritted her teeth. She really wanted to slap Sandra. But she couldn't. She had to cooperate fully. Otherwise, people would criticize her and say that it was because of her that the surgery failed. Therefore, she could only endure this humiliation and went into the operating room. Soon, the surgery began. Sandra picked up the instruments and prepared to perform the craniotomy. When she started, Elizabeth could already feel how professional she was. Especially when she cleared the blood clots on the nerves. Elizabeth finally understood why Victor's condition kept fluctuating and eventually became critical. Those blood clots were on the nerves. The nerves were complex, and each blood clot pressing against them would affect other bodily functions. Because of this, Victor's body functions had almost disappeared. But clearing the blood clots on the nerves was a worldwide challenge!
