Chapter 7: Ms. Hill Will Punish Every Stubborn Person

Karen urged. "Mrs. Cooper, Mr. Cooper asked the kitchen to prepare it especially for you." Wesley paused turning the page. But he thought of something and continued reading. Sandra, holding the soup, suddenly smiled. Karen, who had just been slapped by her in the morning, had a bad feeling. Sandra sighed. "Karen, you were just too worried about Mr. Cooper this morning. I shouldn't have slapped you." Karen was surprised by her apology and felt a bit flattered. "Mrs... Mrs. Cooper, I... " "Consider this soup as my apology." Sandra interrupted and handed the soup to her. Karen immediately stepped back and waved her hand. "Mrs. Cooper, you are too kind. It was my fault this morning, so it was appropriate for you to slap me. You don't need to apologize to me." Sandra frowned, "I sincerely apologize to you. If you don't have the soup, does it mean you don't forgive me?" Her voice was not loud, but it was bone-chillingly cold. Karen's heart trembled, and she quickly took the soup. Sandra grinned. "Come on." Karen's face turned pale. She even trembled. "Mrs... Mrs. Cooper, I..." "What?" Sandra stared at her. Her smiling face sent a chill down Karen's spine. Without further hesitation, Karen guzzled down the soup. Then she quickly left. Wesley put down the book and asked, "Is there something wrong with the soup?" Sandra didn't answer directly. "This place is dangerous." Wesley remained silent. Just then, Leo knocked on the door. "Mr. Cooper, Mrs. Cooper, Karen went to the bathroom to vomit," he whispered. Wesley wasn't surprised at all as if he had already anticipated it. However, when he looked at Sandra, there was a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "Poison?" Wesley asked. Sandra looked at him teasingly. "Not exactly. If I have it, I'll just vomit and have diarrhea and feel weak." After a pause, she burst out laughing. "But if you have it, it might kill you directly." Leo and Wesley exchanged glances. It was so close. Those people had plotted against Wesley before, leaving him unconscious for three years. Now they had come again. "I'll send her to the police," Leo said. Sandra didn't stop him but reminded him. "This soup can't test positive for poison." Leo fell into silence. Then they didn't have to bother calling the police. Wesley's face turned cold, and a chill emanated from his body. Leo immediately said, "I'll go and investigate who Karen is working for." Wesley didn't say a word. Leo naturally wouldn't alert the enemy. After all, they already knew that Karen was a traitor. If they drove her away, the enemy would send another spy, which would make things worse. Sandra smiled. The Cooper family was more interesting than the Hill family. She wouldn't be bored this year. After Leo left, she got up and walked to the desk, extending her hand. Wesley frowned, "What are you doing?" "Checking your pulse." Sandra said naturally and then couldn't help but taunt. "Let me check if your condition got worse after your visit to the Cooper Mansion." Wesley gritted his teeth. Sandra rested her fingers on his wrist and felt his pulse. "Don't be angry. It's bad for your body." Wesley became even angrier. Sandra suddenly frowned, her face gloomy. Yesterday she had indeed saved Wesley, but she had only woken him up. But now... His organs were damaged to varying degrees. Of course, it was because he had been injected with various drugs but he couldn't quickly metabolize them. However, it would make Wesley suffer in the future. "Your future will be exciting." Sandra teased, but her words carried a hint of concern. Wesley's mouth twitched. Exciting? What did she mean? Suddenly, Leo returned. "Mr. Cooper, Mr. Kyle Hill sent someone to pick up Mrs. Cooper." Kyle had already gone to the Cooper Mansion before. Why was he so persistent? Wesley turned his indifferent gaze toward Sandra again. There must be hidden reasons. Sandra, however, remained indifferent. "Leo, won't you call the police to report a home invasion?" Leo was surprised by Sandra's heartlessness toward her brother. Wesley ordered, "Leo, do as she says." Leo could only comply and leave. Sandra ate two apples as if nothing had happened. She felt a bit tired. Then she laid down on the bed to rest. After a while, she opened her eyes and looked at Wesley. "You'd better get some sleep. You probably won't have time to rest tonight." How could Wesley believe that? He immersed himself in reading the book. Sandra shrugged. It didn't matter. He would regret not listening to her. ... When it had just turned dark, Sandra woke up. Karen brought food again. This time it was nontoxic. Sandra sat opposite Wesley. Wesley ate slowly. In contrast, Sandra seemed a bit voracious. When Sandra said, "I'm full," Leo knocked on the door. With the door slightly ajar, Leo's voice came in. "Mr. Cooper, Mr. Victor Cooper suddenly vomited blood and passed out. It's chaotic in the Cooper Mansion right now." Wesley's face darkened instantly. Sandra clapped her hands and grabbed two sandwiches. "Let's go." Wesley was speechless. She seemed more anxious than him. Sandra seemed to know what he was thinking. "I didn't sleep well at noon. Let's make it quick. I have to return to the Hill Villa tomorrow." Leo was stunned. Did Sandra know what she was saying?! Victor had previously been diagnosed as brain-dead and on the verge of death. He woke up in the morning, perhaps because he learned that Wesley was married. But now he vomited blood and fell unconscious. He probably wouldn't survive this time. If he died... They would have to hold a vigil at the Cooper Mansion. Before Leo could speak, the wheelchair was pushed out. Leo had a lot to say but kept it to himself. The three of them quickly arrived at the Cooper Mansion. The mansion was now crowded with people. As soon as they appeared, they attracted everyone's attention. Regardless of how others looked at them, Sandra walked straight to the room where Victor was. Elizabeth's shout came from inside the room. "Don't disturb me. I'm trying to save him!"
