Chapter 76 Unexpected Request

The morning had been peaceful. Too peaceful.
It was rare for me to have the entire mansion to myself, but both of my parents were out for the day, leaving me with nothing but silence and a plate of breakfast.
As I finished my meal, I stood up, stretching slightly. Today was already shaping up to be a long one, but at least I’d have some time to myself before dealing with whatever chaos awaited me at the office.
Or so I thought.
The moment I pulled open my front door, I nearly jumped back in surprise.
Nicholas stood there, his expression unreadable, his stance firm.
I frowned. "What the—what are you doing here?"
