CHAPTER 37 DANCING IN THE DARK
Claire led Ethan to the edge of the sidewalk, where they leaned against a wrought-iron fence to enjoy the impromptu performance. She glanced at Ethan, a warm, mischievous smile on her face.
“You know, you really have to try the street food here. It’s not the same as sitting down in a fancy restaurant. Trust me, it’s an experience.” She paused, a twinkle in her eye. “Or are you too high-class for street food?”
Ethan laughed, enjoying Claire’s playful teasing.
Ethan shook his head, still grinning. “I’m not high-class,” he said. “I just appreciate good food, no matter where it comes from.” He leaned closer to her, his voice dropping to a low whisper. “And if street food is an experience, then I’m more than happy to experience it with you.”
Claire blushed slightly at his words, her gaze lingering on him for a moment longer than necessary. The world seemed to slow around them as they stood there, lost in their own private bubble.
