Astrid's POV I looked out the window of the aircraft as we landed. Who would have thought that the one place that I once couldn't wait to escape was the place that I would soon be calling home? I stole a glance at Alpha Jaxon who was holding a bundled-up Val to his chest. She looked peaceful as she slept on and as I felt my love for her leap on my heart, I couldn't help but envy her in a small way. Unlike me, she wasn't thinking of a thousand different things. Unlike me, she wasn't wondering if Alpha Jaxin had seen my almost kiss with Xavier, she wasn't trying to keep herself from thinking about her Dad so that she would fall apart. Unlike me, she wasn't worried about potentially screwing things up as a parent. The helicopter landed then Alpha Jaxon and I came down.
