"Diana," I called the first time as I saw her eyes flutter closed. "Diana, wake up," I said with more urgency this time. I clutched my son closer to my chest and then looked at my mate. "What is going to happen to her?" I asked.
"There's only one way to find out," Damian said. "We wait. Hopefully, the blood loss won't be so bad, and she will recover in due time. But I didn't think she would lose consciousness like this." Damian looked apologetic.
"Just help her," I said, holding my son closer to me and nearly breaking into tears. "Men do not cry," I remembered my father saying. "If it hurts, hold it in." By the moon goddess, I would hold it in, I told myself.
The moment Diana fell unconscious, my world came crashing down.
