"Interesting," Leonardo said later in my office after the council meeting.
"What's so interesting about anything?" I asked him, imperiously.
"She's interesting. I thought by riling her up a little bit, she might show her true colors, and she did. I never thought an Omega would be so outspoken." I looked at him and smiled.
"Courtesy of her times spent outside. It made her bold, and in some ways, I'm grateful for the exposure."
"So, she was very quiet before then?" Leonardo asked.
"Very. Spoken to hardly, could barely look in the eyes until it lasted a few weeks of me trying to get her to open up to me."
"But that's why you're here, isn't it?" I asked.
"True," he said. "Whatever she's trying to do, I cannot allow it."
"Why?"
"Because it's simply not how things are done. We are the first pack for a reason. We uphold tradition. If we let Omegas begin to think highly of themselves, who knows what would happen?"
