"You know, Kayla, one of the most insidious aspects of psychological manipulation is the way it erodes your sense of self," Dr. Mitchell remarked during one particularly poignant session.
"It plants seeds of doubt, makes you question your own perceptions and memories until you're left adrift, unable to trust even the most fundamental aspects of your own experience."
Kayla nodded slowly, her gaze distant as she recalled the countless instances where Dr. Foster had expertly wielded that very tactic, leaving her reeling and unmoored.
"But here's the thing," Dr. Mitchell continued, leaning forward with a reassuring smile. "Those seeds of doubt, those warped perceptions – they're not you, Kayla. They're the byproduct of someone else's agenda, someone else's twisted desire for control."
"How do I separate myself from that, though?" Kayla asked, her voice laced with frustration. "It's like... like she's still in my head, whispering those doubts, making me second-guess everything."
