When he heard her voice, Rodney’s head snapped up, and he scrambled to his feet as his gaze settling on Kelsey. “That is right, the Leslies. Kelsey, my dear. You’re engaged to Andrew, aren’t you?” Kelsey nodded hesitantly, unsure of where this was going. “Well, then you must convince him to lend us the money to make up for this disaster,” Rodney said, grabbing Kelsey by the shoulders. “As long as we have that, we’ll be fine!” Kelsey’s Aunt scoffed. “And why should Kelsey have to beg her fiancé for money? This is your mess, Rodney Jackson, you should be the one to fix it!” she did not want to spoil her niece’s engagement because of this. Kelsey was not sure if her Aunt really meant what she said. “You don’t understand!” Rodney pleaded. “If we don’t get that money, we’ll lose everything!” “Then you should have thought about that before you invested all our savings in some foolhardy project!” Sandra snapped.
