Chapter 8 She Just Doesn't Like Me
Debra didn't care at all.
She put her hands together in front of her chest and said with admiration, "Mr. Hussain, you are so handsome like this!"
Kenneth's face darkened, "You can go out now."
Debra blinked and replied, "I won't leave. I want to have dinner with you."
Humph!
She couldn't leave.
She wouldn't leave even if she was dead.
After all, she had sent a post to tell others that she was going to have dinner with Kenneth.
If they didn't even sit at the same table, how could she live up to the mobile phone she secretly placed beside them?
She must have dinner with him today!
Kenneth turned around.
"Oh!" Debra suddenly pretended to be fainting. She staggered a few steps and threw herself into Kenneth's arms.
Kenneth narrowed his slightly and turned sideways.
As a result, Debra almost fell to the floor. She held a chair and looked unconvinced.
"Kenneth, I'm a rich lady. How could you do this to me?!" Debra stamped her feet in anger.
"If you mess with me again, I will make you a down-and-out lady." Kenneth left.
Debra chased Kenneth to the door, but he was no longer there.
She bit her lip, unwilling to accept it.
Then, she sent a message to Natalie, "The plan failed. Good luck."
However, Natalie did not see it.
After she coming out of the restaurant, she took a taxi and left.
Then, halfway, she told the driver to stop.
She got out of the taxi and went into a noodle restaurant.
"A bowl of noodles." Natalie sat down and told the restaurant owner.
"All right." The owner began to cook noodles for her.
The noodle restaurant was very close to the house Natalie rented before.
She often came here to have noodles after work.
The owner knew her well.
"You haven't been here for a long time." The owner came over with a bowl of noodles and said enthusiastically, "My daughter-in-law gave birth to a son two days ago. I'm happy, so it's my treat."
"Congratulations!" Natalie was surprised.
The owner chuckled, "At first, the doctor said that my daughter-in-law was in poor health and could not give birth to a child. I wasn't hopeful. Later, I didn't know what happened, but she wanted to have a child again, and we couldn't stop her. Fortunately, the mother and son were both safe. It really scared me. I just thought, when the child was born, I would treat everyone to have noodles for free. I'll just give my grandson a blessing."
"It's good that your daughter-in-law can meet such a father-in-law like you." Natalie said as she had noodles.
"Modern young people are different from us. There is nothing wrong with her ideas. Why should she risk her life in order to give us a child? Everything depends on connection. And you came to my shop for noodles because we're connected." The owner began to prepare noodles as he said.
Natalie nodded with a smile, "Yes, it's all because of connection."
So were Kenneth and she connected?
"It is indeed connection." Isaac's voice came from behind Natalie.
Natalie was startled.
Isaac sat in front of her with a bowl in his hands.
Natalie was very embarrassed, "What a coincidence."
"We're connected." Isaac looked at her meaningfully.
Natalie didn't know what to say.
"Why are you moving away?" Isaac frowned, "Is the rent too expensive? If so, I'll tell my mother when I get back. Don't go."
"Isaac, you misunderstood." Natalie explained, "Ill share the rent with my friend. After that, it's cheaper, and I'll have a company and won't be so lonely."
Actually, Natalie made this up.
She had been used to living alone, so she didn't like having one more person in her life.
She had no choice but to marry Kenneth.
"If you want a companion, why can't it be me?" Isaac was anxious, "I'll be good. I will accompany you whatever you want. If you don't want me to be clingy, I can wait for you to call, and I am young and enthusiastic about everything."
Natalie didn't expect college students to be so daring.
"And I am not a gigolo. I have dowry. After you and I get married, you can work if you want. If you don't, we will live on rents." Isaac blinked his clear eyes and asked, "Could you consider me?"
Natalie was speechless. "Isaac, I've told you, I like mature men."
"I can be mature, and I can do whatever you like." Isaac's eyes were extremely hot.
It was like a fire.
It seemed to set her on fire.
Natalie didn't like this.
She knew deeply what kind of person she was.
In love, she couldn't provide any emotional value to the other party.
On the contrary, she thought it was very tiring to maintain such a relationship.
It was tired enough to go to work every day. If she was in a relationship and she had to take care of his emotions, she would be physically and mentally exhausted.
Love was a thing that could only be seen from a distance, but not be experienced by herself.
What seemed beautiful could be broken at once.
So she could accept her marriage with Kenneth.
Because they both took what they needed respectively.
There was no love in it.
Even if they got divorced in the future, there would be no tie.
"Isaac, in fact, I've fallen in love with a man." Natalie had to tell the truth.
"What?!" Isaac's eyes went red. "Who is he?"
"My colleague, you don't know him." Natalie replied, "So don't pester me. You are young, study well. Look, you have good family conditions. Find a girl of the same age to fall in love."
She was four years older than him.
She couldn't accept it.
"You!" Tears welled up in Isaac's eyes.
Natalie took out her cell phone, paid the bill, and then left.
The owner came over to clear the table and advised, "Young man, you should respect her choice. Love can't be forced. She refused you, but it doesn't mean that you are not good, but that you are not her tea."
"I can also become very mature." Isaac sobbed, "I'm only twenty years old. She can't expect me to be like a forty-year-old. She just doesn't like me..."
The owner didn't know what to say.
Natalie had no idea that she had broken a young man's dream.
She trembled when she saw the message sent by Debra.
Debra failed?
How was this possible?
Debra was so beautiful. Natalie couldn't believe that Kenneth could remain unmoved.
But now it was not time to think about these things. She pretended to be unwell and escaped. Kenneth would definitely hold her accountable.
She must think of a way.
But what could she do?
To leave the city?
Then she might as well refuse Emilio's request in the first place.
The stakes in this matter were too great.
In the future, she must never promise again.
What should she do now?
Just as Natalie was thinking hard, a bunch of headlights shone on her, pulling her thin and slender shadow longer.
The car got closer and closer, and finally stopped beside her.
Kenneth rolled down the window, and his handsome face was as deep as sculpture under the dim headlights. He squinted at Natalie.
Natalie suddenly felt a cold in her neck.
She was screwed.
