Chapter 3 What did you think i was doing?
"Ow!"
It was more painful than being shot!
Celeste gritted her teeth and clutched at his's waist, sucking in breaths to try and manage the sharp pain.
Her legs instinctively bent, almost ready to strike out at the man's groin...
"Is this... your first time?"
A voice of surprise came from above. Celeste's reaction was to lower her legs, her eyes wide and startled, like a frightened rabbit.
She couldn't hit him; it would blow her cover.
Damn.
Nathaniel hadn't expected to be so overwhelmed by impulse. He originally said it was just a test, but truthfully, it was the first time in twenty-eight years that a woman had stirred such a desire in him, allowing him to act on it.
And she was... a virgin?
"Uh..." Celeste blinked, her eyelashes fluttering as if she were on the verge of tears.
To have a child with superior genes, she was determined to endure this pain!
Nathaniel was taken aback; she was incredibly tight!
He could feel her body instinctively trying to push him out as if countless tiny tendrils were wrapping around him.
So this was what making love felt like!
The overwhelming pleasure nearly made Nathaniel lose his senses.
Considering the female assassin linked to his parents' deaths had been involved with the notorious Black Bear gang for years, she couldn't possibly have been a virgin.
Celeste, then, likely had no connection to that assassin.
With this in mind, he finally leaned down to gently kiss her soft lips, his warm hands caressing her soft chest, and tenderly kissing her.
"It'll get better soon."
He murmured as he continued to caress her chest, his arousal slowly moving inside her.
"Mmm..."
Being touched both above and below, Celeste, experiencing this for the first time, was intensely sensitive.
"Does it still hurt?" Nathaniel whispered gently, feeling her become fully moist.
He leaned down to kiss Celeste again.
At last, he heard her softly murmur, "It's not so painful anymore."
Right after Celeste spoke, Nathaniel began to thrust, his arousal moving back and forth, sending waves of sensation from her lower belly...
Celeste instinctively clung to his waist, together experiencing the beauty of love.
The night was exceptionally long...
……
Late into the night, Nathaniel finally withdrew, a trace of fluid marking the end of their intimacy.
Celeste instinctively curled her legs, her cheeks flushed. She didn't dare look at him but allowed him to gently clean her legs.
It turned out to be quite painful and quite exhausting.
Celeste was so worn out that she fell asleep almost immediately.
Nathaniel, seeing she was deeply asleep, quietly slipped out of the room.
"How did it go?"
A slender figure stepped out of the shadows. Felix kept his voice low, "Sir, I've finished checking her background. Everything about Mrs. matches up. She's been living in a rural orphanage up until this marriage arrangement. The calluses on her hands are probably from years of doing household chores."
Was he just overthinking things?
Somehow, Nathaniel felt relieved to hear this.
For the first time in twenty-eight years, he had found a woman who sparked his desire, and he didn't want her to be an assassin with a hidden agenda.
"Also, her dad called and wasn't too pleased…"
"Let him be," Nathaniel said, a hint of annoyance in his eyes as he recalled the day's events with the Sterling family. "If Edward has issues, he can come and talk to me himself."
"Yes, sir." Felix watched Nathaniel walk away, sensing the emotional shift. Perhaps this new wife meant more to him than he let on.
……
The next morning, Celeste woke up to the sunlight feeling like she had just gone through three days of intense physical training. Her legs were particularly sore.
"Morning," came a deep, slightly raspy voice from above her. She looked up to see his handsome, warm face.
For a moment, Celeste felt disoriented until he gently rubbed her head, reminding her of last night's wedding and the decision that he would be the father of her child.
"Last night was rough, huh?"
The memories made her face turn beet red.
It really was rough!
Especially considering his lack of skill—it was almost painfully awkward.
Nathaniel observed the girl curled up in his arms, mistaking her downward gaze for shyness.
His gaze deepened as he looked over her flushed skin...
He gently lifted her, delicately parting her legs to check more closely.
Celeste gasped, "!!!"
Was he serious?
Did he want to go again so soon?
"Mr. Ford, I'm still sore!" Celeste cut in, her face a picture of piteous appeal.
This wasn't an act.
It genuinely hurt, and considering the awkwardness, she wondered if it might have been his first time too.
She still felt the sting from last night.
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow, then showed her a small box of ointment in his hand, chuckling lightly, "I'm just applying some ointment, what did you think I was doing?"
Celeste calmed down, her eyes drawn to the man's striking features bathed in the morning light. Every now and then, when their eyes met, a hint of recognition flickered through her mind.
"Why does he look so familiar?"
But his warm hand had already moved away from her leg, his voice reassuring her gently.
"The ointment will do its work. You'll be healed by tonight."
She almost managed a "thank you," but the words just wouldn't come out.
Was he being this thoughtful just so they could continue whatever was planned for tonight?
However, just as she noticed Nathaniel getting ready to leave, Celeste, not even bothering about her state of undress, quickly reached out and grabbed his hand.
Her eyes, filled with a tender longing, softly implored, "Mr. Ford, where are you off to? Can I come with you?"
It made sense to go out with him and then look into some clues; after all, a newlywed Mrs. Ford out shopping would hardly raise any eyebrows, right?
Nathaniel caught the eager look in her eyes. Maybe it was her nervousness in this unfamiliar setting that made her so eager to stick by his side.
With a smile, he handed her a black card, saying, "I'm swamped today. Why don't you go out and enjoy yourself?"
Celeste's face lit up with surprise – the timing couldn't be more perfect!
Then, almost as an afterthought, he added, "Just try to keep it under a billion for the day."
"Wait, what?!" Her heart missed a beat.
A billion!
After years of undercover work, risking her life, and barely scraping together a million a year to keep the orphanage running, this was beyond her wildest dreams.
Marrying him had turned out to be a real windfall!
Watching her joy, Nathaniel felt a warmth in his heart, dismissing last night's suspicions as ridiculous.
How could this simple, pure-hearted girl possibly be the cold-blooded assassin connected to her parents' deaths?
He gently stroked her hair, murmuring, "Alright, I have to run now."
"Mmm, goodbye, Mr. Ford."
Her soft voice stayed with him, and as he turned to leave, he could still see the innocence that seemed to permeate her very being. His lips curved into a slight smile.
She was as delightful and gentle as she felt last night.
