"Damn! I messed up! I killed him! I killed my own child!" Paul thought to himself, gulping down another cup of alcohol. His new routine was to drink excessively, numbing his emotions. He missed Cecilia dearly but felt unworthy to approach her. After their son's death in his hands, he doubted she'd want to talk to him. Yet, he desperately needed to know how she was doing. "Sir, we need to close now!" the bartender interrupted, breaking Paul's reverie. Paul looked up, surprised by the time. "Like, right now?" he asked the young bartender, who seemed amazed by Paul's audacity. "No one would believe I've been drinking for hours without getting drunk," Paul thought. It was another unusual phenomenon that started after the incident – his eyes remained clear no matter how much he drank. "Yes, sir, it's late, and we must close," the bartender replied.
