Chapter 3
Reflecting on the scene from her dream, Eleanor murmured the name "Robert" with a sullen look.
"Er, are you at home? Someone's looking for you!"
Grandpa Noah called out, hurrying in with high spirits.
"They seem to be from a big family. They have come all the way from Chicago just to see you."
"Got it, Grandpa. I'll be right there."
"You'd better hurry up. He looks like a big shot. Don't let him wait for too long."
Grandpa Noah left in a rush, eager to entertain the distinguished guest. It had been ages since anyone important visited Georgetown.
It was absurd. When Amelia Hampton gave birth, a nurse in the hospital was also giving birth. However, the nurse's baby was born a few minutes later. The nurse had a history of heart disease and her husband had recently died in an accident. She therefore, feared for the future of her child. Desperation led the nurse to take the risk to switch her baby with Mrs. Hampton's to enable her baby live a comfortable life after she was gone.
After the switch, the nurse was afraid of being discovered, so she resigned from her job, took the baby she had switched and moved to Georgetown. Despite the deceit, the nurse was kind to the baby nick naming her "Er" short for "Eleanor".
Tragically, the nurse died of a heart attack not long after. On her deathbed, feeling remorseful, she wrote a letter revealing the truth about Eleanor, She attached the medical certificate and asked someone to send it to the Hampton family.
Theodore and Amelia Hampton wasted no time, conducting a DNA test with Eleanor within a fortnight. The result that she was somebody else, born of another mother and father stunned Eleanor.
In the days of her "rebirth", she had been waiting, waiting for the Hampton family to pick her up and take her to Chicago. Only when she went to Chicago could she meet those who hurt her in her previous life and take revenge.
As she approached Grandpa Noah's house, she saw a Bentley parked outside. Eleanor walked over and saw Grandpa Noah talking to the people in the car, who seemed disinterested. She comforted her Grandpa, then boldly opened the car door and sat inside.
Her sudden action startled Amelia. Ready to scold Eleanor for her boldness, she stopped short, utterly stunned, upon seeing her face...
