Chapter 10

Like a wild beast coming out of a cage, he attacked her. Antoinette felt as if an electric current went from his lips to hers, spreading down to her legs. Her toes curled up, and she trembled in anticipation. She’d done this before, but just once. She really didn’t have much experience, and though it was she who had initiated it, she had no idea what to do. Unable to catch her breath, she soon became dizzy. "Steve…" She took a few breaths and looked at him with teary eyes. A big palm slid on her side, and her flimsy nightie was lifted up. The palm of the hand seemed to carry wildfire, and she trembled wherever he touched her. He looked at her deeply, his voice dull, "You want to mess around with me? Huh?" She trembled. Although she was a little scared, she still mustered her courage to put her arms around his neck. She whispered. "Husband." He stopped. Antoinette called again, "Husband, don't alienate me. I really want to live a good life with you." Something in him seemed to break, and Steve Gu kissed her lips again. This time he was much gentler with her. She felt a clear pain as he penetrated her, and she exclaimed, "It hurts!" He stiffened, got up and walked to the bathroom. Soon there was a splash of water in the bathroom. Antoinette sat up on the bed, her face red like a ripe tomato. As she watched him shower, she shrank slightly into the comforter. Steve Gu was so angry last night that he couldn't control his strength for a while. She was new at this, and was injured. She didn’t realize that they couldn’t. Even if she had wanted it so bad. When he came out of the bathroom, she had already moved her belongings into his bedroom very conspicuously. This time, he said nothing more. Just looking at Antoinette Yun's gaze made him feel weak, and he had no idea what she was thinking. She also knew that her change in attitude was very sudden, which would definitely arouse suspicion. But she couldn't help it. She couldn’t even understand what had happened to her, let alone explain it to others. And she didn't want to wait any longer. She didn’t want to waste any time. She had hurt Steve so much before she'd been given this second chance. Alexandra Yun had exploited this to separate her from him. Now that she’d been given a new lease on life, she will never give her sister or anyone else a chance to put a gap between her and her husband. By this logic, the sooner she reconciles with him, the better. ... The next morning, he woke up to her lying on his body. Because he didn't want to wake her up, he lay still and didn't move. She smiled awkwardly, slid down from him calmly, and said with a smile, "Morning." Steve Gu gave a faint "um" and got up to wash. Antoinette quickly wiped the corners of her mouth, and then checked for any drool where she’d lain her head. To her relief, there was none. Her sleeping appearance was not very good, but she didn’t really care before when she slept alone. Now that she was sleeping with the person she liked, she felt a little embarrassed. Aunt Li, their housemaid, made breakfast. As soon as She was about to eat, she received a call from her father Yun Fan. She looked at the caller ID, frowned slightly, and said to him, "It’s my dad." Steve nodded, and she walked out with her phone. As soon as she was outside the door, she pressed the accept call button As soon as the connection was made, Mr. Yun greeted her with a shameless rebuke. "Did you spread the news on the Internet? And what happened last night, were you the one who ordered Marshall Su to do something to your Aunt Lin?" There was no expression on Antoinette Yun's face, and her tone was faint. "No, and no." There was an awkward silence. "You have hardened wings now, and you have the same attitude towards your father! Do you think that Steve Gu will support you, so you can forget your family? Don’t you remember your last name?" Antoinette Yun's fingers tightened slightly, and she took the phone away from her ears. Some redness in the eye sockets. She will never forget how her own father had treated her in her other timeline. Originally, after he had married Regine Lin, he was merely negligent towards her. After she fell into a drug scandal, not only did he refuse to help her and try to find out the truth, he had actually publicly threatened to disown her. He was one of the first in her family to condemn her. When she was framed and imprisoned, she tried her best to pass news to him, hoping that he could save her in the name of their father-daughter relationship. Unexpectedly, after she had escaped from all the hardship, what she saw was the cozy scene of him taking Alexandra and her mother, on a family vacation. All her letters to him, he’d thrown them all away. Although she wouldn’t go as far as to call it hate, but there was definitely a lot of bad blood between them. There is not much love between father and daughter. She waited for his voice on the other side to gradually quiet down, then she raised the phone back to her ear. "If there is nothing else, I will hang up." “I was just about to hang up,” Mr. Yun retorted. "Come here today when you have time. Your mother left you some things, you can have them." She paused, then said, "Okay."
