Chapter 7

I climbed out of bed with Amelia's help. I knew that Margaret would look for me. Since I didn't return to Benjamin's house, Samuel probably figured out that I had come back to my university. Though he wouldn't kick up a fuss here, he had other ways of dealing with me. Still, I didn't expect Margaret to come so quickly. The moment I headed downstairs, I saw Margaret crying her lungs out on the floor. "You're so heartless. How could you bully me? I just want to talk things out with Juliet and ask her why she called the cops on her own relative. He treats her so well! Though her family became bankrupt, we treat her like she's a princess. Yet after dating a wealthy man, she immediately sent her relative to jail. "Have you ever met such a heartless woman before?" Meanwhile, the female students who were preparing to eat breakfast and get water were standing around and talking among themselves. "Who's that? Who dated a rich man after her family went bankrupt?" "She called the cops on her own relative? That sounds rather unfair." On the other hand, the dorm supervisor scolded Margaret sternly, "You can't enter the place. Tell your relative to come down. You can do as you please then!" Just when Margaret was about to say something, she looked up and spotted me in the crowd. Immediately, she got up and patted the dirt off herself. Walking forward, she pointed at me. "Juliet, you're so heartless. Come with me to the police station and retract your statement." I stood still and looked on coldly. "I'm not going with you." "Did everyone hear that? She admitted it! She called the cops on her own relative when we provided for her! Why is she so ruthless?" Everybody turned to observe me. Then, someone spoke up for Margaret self-righteously. "You can't do that." The person also supported Margaret. Meanwhile, I looked at Margaret and said, "I called the police because a man took my room card at a resort and trespassed into my room. Why did the police capture Benjamin instead?" Margaret's face turned pale. "What nonsense are you spouting?" "I heard that man say that Benjamin gave him my room card so he could take nude photos of me and stick them all over my university. If that happened, I wouldn't be able to continue studying here. Then, you'd be able to sell me to a wealthy person at a good price." Margaret looked very uncomfortable. "That didn't happen! You've done so many evil things, and now, you're accusing your own relatives. You're just like your parents, who forgot about their relatives after becoming rich. They deserved to go bankrupt after making false accusations about us!" Once she mentioned my parents, I became furious. My parents had always treated them sincerely. They bought a house for Benjamin and Margaret a few decades ago. In my previous life, I heard Benjamin and Margaret scolding my parents. They cursed my parents for giving them only three million dollars to buy a house while we lived in a mansion. They also berated my parents for being too stingy, which led to their downfall. According to them, this was the reason why I became a man's plaything, unlike their own daughter, who was a pure and innocent young woman. They wanted their daughter to marry a good person in the future. "Margaret, you know that I'm blind, so I've developed a habit of recording things. Do you want to hear my recording?" I took out my phone. Margaret hurriedly snatched my phone away. "What do you want?" Looking at the guilty expression on her face, everyone realized what was happening. The young woman who helped Margaret earlier backed away in disgust like she had touched something dirty. "How could her relatives behave like this? How pitiful. Her family became bankrupt, and no one is helping her. How could this woman slander her own relative?" "She's Juliet, right? She's the campus belle in the humanities faculty. Her relatives are so disgusting. How could they treat a young woman like that?" Margaret couldn't check my phone in front of everyone because they were all scolding her. Since she wasn't willing to leave, I realized that Samuel must have promised to give her a lot of money to deal with me and get me out of the university. I laughed. "Isabelle is studying at Harborton University too, right?" Hearing that, Margaret's face turned pale. "You can't forget what we've done for you, Juliet…" Her gaze turned pleading. She was afraid that I'd tell everyone who Isabelle was and Isabelle would be humiliated as well. Isabelle cared about her reputation a lot. Besides, Margaret spoiled her. "If you look for me again, I'm afraid that I'll accidentally announce who your daughter is to everyone." Once she heard that, Margaret gritted her teeth and threw my phone to the ground. Then, she turned and left. After watching her rush off, I crouched down and felt for my phone. At the same time, Amelia quickly squatted down and picked it up for me. Helping me up, she said, "Here's your phone, Juliet." She gently placed my phone in my palm. Stroking my phone, I nodded gratefully toward her. Margaret wouldn't come back for a while after this. Though she was greedy for money, she cared about Isabelle. Since she wanted Isabelle to marry a rich man, she wouldn't want Isabelle's reputation to be tarnished. I returned to my dorm and took a shower. After I came back, I sensed my roommates sneaking glances at me. Just then, someone placed a carton of milk on my table. "I saw you coming back to the dorm without eating. You should drink some milk. It's still warm." The person who gave me the milk was the one who claimed that I was lucky the previous day. She looked at me awkwardly. At the same time, she seemed apologetic and appeared to pity me. "Thank you." Taking the milk from her, I smiled in her direction. All at once, her face turned red. She hurriedly shoved some bread in my hands and left for her classes with the others. I placed the milk and bread into my bag, then grabbed my cane and walked out of the dorm. Being able to see made things very convenient for me. I was grateful that my eyesight had been restored and that I could go back in time to before I was murdered. When I arrived at the subway station, I kept my cane and followed the map on my phone to Silus Tennis Club. "Hello, I saw your hiring advertisement here yesterday. May I ask if you're still hiring any servers?" "Yes. Have you played tennis before? Our servers have to understand how the game works, and they should know how to play it." The receptionist observed me in awe. I nodded. "I'm experienced, and I have a 3.0 tennis rating. Is that okay?" "With your skills, you can probably become a tennis coach. Are you really sure that you want to be a server here?" I nodded in response. Breathing in deeply, the receptionist looked at me and seemed to realize something. "Please follow me. I'll bring you to the HR department." I knew what she was thinking. Silus Tennis Club was a tennis club that could allow others to gain access to powerful people in Harborton. This place wasn't open to the public, and the players had to pay membership fees. One year of membership fees cost 500 thousand dollars. Not everyone could join the club. Even if they were rich, if they couldn't prove their wealth, they weren't allowed entry. Samuel's uncle, Gideon, didn't have many hobbies. However, his favorite hobby was playing tennis, and he was a VVIP member of this club. In my previous life, I heard about it when Yvette asked Samuel what Gideon's hobbies were. She kept asking Samuel about Gideon for three years, so I knew how she felt about Gideon. Gideon was 26 years old and had all the power in the Jackman family. Gideon was Samuel's real uncle, and Yvette loved him secretly though she couldn't be with him. Of course, he was the best choice for me to take my revenge!
