It's been days since Ezekiel had that intense argument with Cindy. Since then, he avoided her completely. He was too frustrated and exhausted to engage in another argument with her. Five years ago, under the compulsion of his wolf, he signed the divorce papers that Alyssa had sent him and he also cut off her access to all of the credit cards she owned; the ones that he gave her. He thought that financially distancing her would make her come back to her senses and then she would return back to him. That was just his wishful thinking as five years had passed and he hadn't seen even her shadow. Even the wolf trackers he had sent to find her had no trace of her, like though she had completely disappeared from the earth. He was slowly losing hope of ever seeing her again. He couldn't deal with the pain and intense longing for her so he buried himself with work, hoping it would keep him busy and numb the pain he was feeling. He couldn't bring himself to return to the home they lived together
