*Adam* The next day, I am still thinking about what Shelby told me the night before, and it’s bothering me. I tried not to let her know it hurt me when she asked if I was afraid to die, if I was afraid to sacrifice myself for Rose and her children. While I don’t want to die and leave my wife a widow, of course, I know it’s my duty to protect those who are not strong enough to protect themselves. I see the bigger picture here, just as my wife does. But that doesn’t mean I am willing to sacrifice Shelby in place of Rose.
