Charlie forced a bitter smile.
Zion glanced at him through the rearview mirror, stating, "You have to trust Lyra. She's not just any woman."
"I hope so…" Charlie's voice trailed off.
He did trust Lyra—how could he not? But when danger struck, panic and fear still gripped him like a vice.
Before long, the car pulled up to the gates of Foster Manor.
Zion tapped his Bluetooth earpiece, and a voice on the other end promptly reported, "Mr. Spencer, we've been monitoring the premises around the clock. There's nothing out of the ordinary."
"Understood," Zion replied, ending the call.
Both of them stepped out of the car, and Zion moved to help Charlie as they made their way toward the manor.
