Chapter 12
That night, Simona thought Matthew would do something, but he didn't. except for that sentence, Matthew said nothing. The two stood in the wind for a few minutes, and ended a silent war with Matthew's departure.
Maria called her to ask if she was okay. She told the truth, but the person on the other end of the phone was unwilling to believe it. She held the phone and cried hysterically, but Simona couldn't coax her.
Not to mention that Maria didn't believe it, even Simona herself didn't want to believe it. Matthew just left with one sentence.
She couldn't forget how cold Matthew's eyes were five years ago. There seemed to be cruelty in his eyes. Every time she dreamed, she couldn't help but feel scared.
The sun was shining brightly today. Simona stood at the checkout counter and calculated the sales of this month. According to the three percent reward, she could get more than 1000 bonus this month, plus the basic salary of this month one thousand and eight hundred. The money she could get this month was less than three thousand.
Today was already twenty-five days. There were still six days left for her to pay her father's hospitalization fee.
She had quit her job in the Night Club. Now there were only more than 10000 dollars in her hand. Her father's hospitalization and care fees for a month were ten thousand. She really had nothing.
"Simona, someone is looking for you."
When Helen called her, she was annoyed by how to spend the month. Her ponytail had been scratched in a mess.
As soon as she raised her head, she saw Spencer Lewis standing in front of the stage. He smiled at her and asked, "are you free now? Let's have lunch together."
She looked at him in surprise, and was even more embarrassed when she heard his words. When she was about to say something, the man had already been one step ahead of her. "Simona, I just came back. I'm very tired, so I want to have dinner with you."
Spencer's voice was full of tiredness. Her hand that was rotating the pen paused for a moment, and the pen in her hand fell directly on the table with a heavy sound.
She pursed her lips and finally nodded. She glanced at the lower right corner of the computer and said, "there are still ten minutes left."
With her permission, Spencer was in a good mood. He couldn't help smiling and said, "I'll wait for you."
She nodded, picked up a pen and continued to calculate the turnover of the morning.
It was a coincidence to know Spencer. The lady's clothing shop Simona was in was a mid price shop, so it was quite popular.
On that day, Spencer accompanied his sister to go shopping, but a set of clothes worth thousands of dollars was missing. The two of them had known each other during the investigation.
Some people didn't realize that he was living by your side until they met each other. He was just like Spencer. That day, the two of them met more and more times on the street.
Spencer had helped her a lot, and she knew his love for her. She just didn't want to drag down Spencer.
Spencer was just a photographer. He could find an ordinary girl and live a peaceful and happy life, instead of spending every month with her thinking about how to collect the more than 10000 medical expenses.
Her father had been in the hospital for so many years. She had thought of finding someone to help her, but in the end, she still couldn't bear to drag anyone into the whirlpool of her life.
She had to be brave enough to take the responsibility.
Simona always knew that she was a burden to everyone.
Therefore, no matter how much Spencer had done, she didn't fall in love with him, nor did she dare to.
