Chapter 21

Makenna’s POV. I wasn’t surprised when my phone pinged the next day with a text from Kenzie asking to have lunch together because we needed to catch up. I snorted from where I sat on my couch licking ice cream and watching Netflix because Wolfe was too busy today and promised me he would come pick me up tomorrow. No matter what Kenzie thought, she was not sleek. I could see right through her bullshit. But even though the last thing I wanted to do was listen to her talk about herself this afternoon, I couldn’t say no or I would look stupid so I quickly sent her a message asking for the time and address. Thirty minutes later, I was dressed and in my car driving to the restaurant address Kenzie sent me. It was a different one this time and I thanked God for that. I walked into the restaurant, looking around. Patrons in every shape and color filled the place and when I saw a hand waving at me from the middle of the room, I knew it was Kenzie. Alright.
