Chapter 16 It Hurts So Much
Credence acted as if he had not heard anything. He let out a cold chuckle. Grabbing Dorothy's thin shoulders with his strong arms, he turned her over.
Then, he affixed his palm on the back of her head. His lips were just inches away from hers as he said mockingly, "It's not mine. So what if you lose the child?"
His remark was like a knife stabbing into Dorothy's heart. She felt as if her heart was bleeding.
She widened her eyes in shock, staring straight at the man who was hurting her cruelly. Her lips trembled, but she was too upset to utter a single word.
When she came to her senses, Credence's nimble fingers slid down her smooth cheek, all the way down to her chin, and neck...
"Credence Scott, you a*shole! Are you even human?"
Dorothy pressed on his hand, stopping it from sliding down. She bit her lips and shouted angrily, "I'm telling you, if you dare kill my child, I will fight to the death. At worst, I'll lose my life. Do you think I'm afraid? Since I live in humiliation every day, I'd rather die!"
She seemed to have mustered all her courage and strength to utter those words.
After saying that, she collapsed on the bed feebly. Still, she glared at Credence, who was pinning her down with his body, with fierce determination. Tears began to well up in her eyes, but she blinked hard against them.
Shedding tears in front of Credence would only make him feel even more annoyed and disgusted with her.
But Rosalie's tears could easily stir pity in his heart.
It was of no use no matter what Dorothy did.
As long as Credence did not have her in his heart, she was always in the wrong.
The bright afternoon sun shone on Dorothy's pale face, revealing her soul-stirring beauty.
Moreover, at this moment, her angry and teary face looked even more enchanting than usual. Her unique charm made Credence's eyes darken with a hint of danger. His Adam's apple could not help but move up and down.
However, when his gaze shifted to her flat stomach, his burning desire turned into incomprehensible bitterness and restlessness.
Throughout his glorious life of thirty years, Dorothy was his only woman. But he was not the only man of Dorothy. How could he not hate her?
"You don't have the say, Dorothy Fisher. You'll have to do it whether you like it or not!"
Credence suddenly clasped both of her hands and pinned them above her head. His well-built body pressed down on her once again. With his lips planted on her wet eyelids, his every word sounded cold and heartless. "Since you had the nerve to cheat on me, you'll have to bear the consequences! My revenge has just begun. Enjoy it!"
"No, I didn't..."
Once again, he had accused her. Dorothy was enraged to the brink of madness. When she was about to defend herself, he pressed his lips firmly on hers. Her mind went blank for a moment, and she could hear a baby's faint cry.
Her body shook violently. After coming back to her senses, she resisted with all her might. The tears that she had worked hard to fight back finally spilled out of her eyes.
She cried and begged Credence in a soft voice, "Credence... Please, let me go! This child is not an illegitimate child. It's our child..."
However, her distressing cries failed to awaken Credence who had lost his sanity due to jealousy.
"Ouch... It hurts, it hurts so much!"
She couldn't believe that Credence was actually biting her lips.
Waves of sharp, tearing pain spread from her lips to her whole body. The pain caused her to wriggle her body and struggle desperately.
No matter how she begged for mercy, Credence turned a deaf ear to her.
"No!"
"This child..."
"This child is ours... Please believe me!"
She begged internally for him to just believe her this once.
Her lips were trembling, but she could not voice out her true feelings. Eventually, she passed out because of the excruciating pain.
When Credence was done, he climbed out of the bed and got dressed. When his gaze fell on Dorothy's ashen face, his heart softened. He leaned over and gently pulled her sweaty long hair behind her ear. Sneering, he said, "You reap what you sow. This is what you owe me."
After that, he turned around and left the room without looking back.
As Credence walked past the hall on the first floor, he hesitated for a moment. With a cold expression, he ordered one of the maids, Maria Lewis, who was cleaning the living room, "Go to the second floor and check on Mrs. Scott. Report to me immediately if anything happens."
"Yes, Mr. Scott."
With that, Maria went up to the second floor. When she gently pushed the bedroom door open and entered the room, she was greeted by a shocking scene!
