Chapter 9
Christina rolls her eyes when she hears those words from that woman, and deep down in her heart, even though she knew she shouldn't, she was thanking herself for having had that accident, and for having met the doctor. Reynolds, because she had a feeling that Dr. Reynolds was going to be the angel she needed to get out of the stormy life she used to lead.
"Don't worry, Mrs. Evans, I'm not going back to your house, and tell your son that I don't want to know anything about him either because you are the worst thing that could have happened to me in my life," says Christina using the same tone of voice as contempt that Mrs. Evans used with her.
"I'll tell my son to send you the divorce papers, but that's right, I'm personally going to make sure that you don't get anything that belongs to my son when you sign those papers, do you understand?" Mrs. Evans yells at him, feeling like a very powerful woman in high-class society.
"Again, don't worry Mrs. Evans, have you forgotten that I studied at the university? What do I have for a career with a very good resume? Your son doesn't need to deny me what by right belongs to me, if he does not want to give it to me, that's fine, let a lawyer decide, for now, I don't want to hear from you again" says Christina.
Before Mrs. Evans could say anything back to Christina's comment, Christina hurried over and hung up the call, putting her cell phone on the side of the bed where it wouldn't hit the floor if she were to stand up, standing up. She stood up and went to the bathroom, there, the nurse had left her a shopping bag that had the logo of a clothing store, she had brought it when the day had just started and Christina had already been awake, and ready to go. Serve the breakfast.
The nurse had told Christina that that bag was a new set of clothes, and this had been a gift from none other than Dr. Reynolds, as he wanted to see her dress nicely for her last day at the hospital.
She decides to open the shopping bag, and inside, she finds a beautiful pair of black jeans that seemed to fit her body, and a nice white blouse that was baggy, but not long-sleeved and not long, rather It was a blouse that hit her waist.
"Thank you, Doctor Reynolds, you will be of great help at this point in my life when I am planning revenge against my mother-in-law and my dear husband" says Christina.
Christina has looked in the mirror, and she has been completely disappointed in herself because she has seen that her face is no longer the same pretty face that she had when she was in high school or university, or when she was a single woman without no type of commitment, her face seemed more like that of an old woman who had been wasted in her homework and didn't care to look pretty, radiant, or at least to keep herself.
No, Christina felt like a completely ugly woman, she looked like an ogre, and she didn't understand then why Dr. Reynolds paid her so many compliments that she was a pretty woman, when in fact, she wasn't, she wasn't a pretty woman at all. On the contrary, she was an ugly woman.
Christina felt annoyed, first of all, she was annoyed with herself for letting her life become bitter with everything that was being done to her at her blessed mother-in-law's house, the mistreatment and insults of her unconscious mother-in-law and her husband had turned her into a completely withered woman.
But not anymore, Christina ended up accepting that she has to take revenge on them, how would she do it? She didn't know it yet, but what she was sure of was that she was going to have the unconditional support of Dr. Reynolds, because she knew that if she told him everything she had experienced before the accident, he would understand her, and he would help her. help so that her heart and mind could be at peace, and she can continue with her peaceful life, away from that family that for many years was her greatest torment.
Christina looked to her left side of the bathroom, she had not realized that it was spacious and that inside her, there was a space where she had a shower, she did not think twice, and she took off her hospital clothes, leaving herself completely naked, he got into the shower and took a relaxing bath of warm water to relax.
After she showered, she stepped out of the bathroom, toweled herself off, and dressed.
When she finished dressing, she left the bathroom, and the hospital room, because she was completely tired of being locked up there prostrate in a bed that she was sure was not as comfortable as the one she would use in a hotel room.
"Miss, excuse me, where is Dr. Reynolds' office?" Christina asks the nurse who was walking next to her in the same hallway as her.
"I'm just going there, if he wants he can follow me" the nurse tells Christina.
Christina nods in agreement and follows the nurse, soon, they arrive at Dr. Reynolds' office, they enter there after having knocked on the door to ask for permission to enter, and the nurse hands her the documents she had in hand, then she leaves, closing the door to allow Dr. Reynolds to speak with Christina alone.
"Good morning, thank you very much for this, you didn't have to do it" Christina tells him with a flirtatious and charming smile that she knew that Dr. Reynolds was not going to be able to resist.
