Catching Her
(Kalel’s POV)
"You're sure about this, Kalel?" Carlo's voice is laced with doubt, his eyes narrowed as he stares at me. "This is a dangerous game you're playing."
I lean back in my chair, my gaze fixed on the flickering screen of my laptop. The map on the screen displays a cluster of red dots, each one representing a possible location for Cindy.
She's been moving, constantly on the run, but with each new location, the signal grows stronger. I'm closing in.
"I'm sure," I say, my voice firm. "We planned this, Carlo. Camilla and I. We knew Cindy would strike, and we were ready. That's why we decided to plant a tracking device on her wedding dress."
"But why?" Carlo asks, his voice laced with confusion. "Why risk Camilla's life?"
I sigh, the weight of the truth settling heavy on my shoulders. "Because it was the only way," I say, my voice dropping to a whisper. "She wanted her. Cindy was going to hurt her. We had to act."
