A Convenient Fiancée
(Camilla's POV)
"My fiancee, are you fascinated by my handsomeness again?"
My fiancee?I stared at the man holding my waist right now with widened eyes. I don't remember meeting him before. He’s an absolute stranger and certainly not my fiancée.
I’m thinking that maybe Butler Jin instinctively hired someone to pretend as my fiancée just to ensure the success of my revenge.
He’s always been that supportive.
I don't know how but I managed to check him out in the littlest time possible.
He’s a handsome enough fellow, with a strong jawline and a mop of dark hair that refused to be tamed. He has beautiful blue eyes with thick lashes. His nose was tall and his lips were red and plump.
But what really caught my attention were his simple yet flashy clothes.
He’s wearing a dashing Noir Atelier black suit, its size not too thin and not too loose. Just perfect for his size, a tailored cut that spoke of a man who knew his own worth. I noticed the subtle stitching on his collar, a detail that spoke of quality craftsmanship.
On his wrist is the latest watch model of Montclair, probably around thirty million dollars.
His shiny black shoes tell me that they're from the luxury brand, Blackthorne, which is one of the most valuable luxury brands in the world.
This man is a walking luxury.
I don't think he’s someone my butler can afford to hire just to pretend as my fiancée. He looked like he had more important things to do.
“Kalel? As in the CEO of Spark Energy, Kalel Villafuerte?” Lester asked in disbelief.
The surprise expression on his face makes him look like he got starstruck or something. I glanced back at the man standing beside me right now.
I have been in the business industry for a very long time and I genuinely never heard of his name before. But I have to say that his face is familiar.
I feel like I’ve met him before… somewhere.
“Indeed, Mister Agravante. It’s my pleasure to finally meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you from my fiancée,” he said, pulling me closer to him. I blinked my eyes innocently when his gaze met mine.
What the hell is he talking about? I literally just met him now. How can I tell him personal stories like that?
However, Lester and Cindy looked at me for confirmation, forcing me to plaster a fake smile on my face in spite of the confusion enveloping inside.
“Y—Yes, of course,” I replied, clearing my voice to remove the tension. “I have to be transparent to him about my past. I’m sorry that I had to tell him about your infidelity. He deserves to know the truth. It’s in the past now anyway. Besides, maybe things didn't work out for us because I was meant to meet Kalel.”
I don't even know how I managed to pull that one. I’m speaking like we planned this together.
“Fiancée? You’re lying! This is just a ploy to get back to us!” Cindy exploded. I arched my brows when she pointed her three month old fake nails at me. They're obviously overgrown and need to get done. “I know what you're trying to do, bitch. You're trying to enter our lives so you can steal him back!”
I couldn't help it but scoffed.
“Are you honestly admitting that you stole him from me? Didn't you act out like it was an accident when I saw you shoving your chest to his face?” I sarcastically rebutted, making her turn red in anger.
She must be thinking I’d be reluctant to tell the whole story because of the number of phones recording us right now.
Oh, dear. She is legit falling for the trap because this is exactly what I wanted… to expose them.
Cindy began to feel the weight of embarrassment when all the phones started to record her face. She lowered her head, hiding behind Lester who doesn't really seem to care about her at all.
It’s so satisfying to see her experiencing the same hellish maltreatment I had to endure for years.
Did she honestly think that Lester would magically change himself and become a great husband to her? She’s just one of the many girls he had scammed.
And I hate the fact that I am one of them.
“I’m sorry but I can't let you speak to my fiancée that way. You're going to have to leave the restaurant,” Kalel said in a warning tone.
Cindy scoffed in disbelief.
“And why must we leave when it’s the four of us that created this public disturbance?” she asked.
Kalel gave her a serious stare.
“Because I own this restaurant.”
My lips formed an “o” shape upon hearing the revelation from him.
He’s telling me that, The Grand Auberge, which is the popular five-star restaurant in the City with 34 franchises all over the country, is his?
What an actual fuck?
How rich is this guy for real?!
Cindy’s face turned red in a mixture of defeat and embarrassment, especially when some of the customers who were watching us laughed. It didn't take long before the security came to join us.
“Please, come with us,” a male security asked, guiding them both to the exit of the restaurant like they're not supposed to be here.
I felt a hint of satisfaction, seeing them being taken away like that. I still remember how Lester called the security on me when I begged him to fix our marriage. But now the tables have turned and they're not just simply being taken away because they're being recorded, too.
It's only a matter of time before one of them starts to upload that on the internet.
It will surely affect Lester’s reputation negatively.
Just like I wanted.
“Are you okay?”
I diverted my attention back to the stranger who saved me from embarrassment.
I almost forgot about him.
“Thanks,” I briefly said.
He gave me a gentle smile, revealing his cute dimples on the sides of his cheeks.
“But why would you do that? I don't think my butler hired you to pretend to be my fiancée. You definitely look like you're doing well,” I asked doubtedly. He let out a sexy chuckle that almost made my underwear fall out of place.
This man isn't just rich. He’s bloody hot as well.
“Why would you need someone to pretend to be your fiancée? I’d fall in line to marry you.”
My cheeks blushed from his response.
Is he blatantly flirting with me?
I cleared my throat, acting like his words didn't move me one bit.
“Is that true that you're the CEO of Spark Energy? And the owner of this restaurant?”
He casually inserts his hands in his pocket.
“Do you doubt me, too, fiancée?” he playfully replied.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
Just because he helped me doesn't mean he can be comfortable with me. I will pay my debt to him, even if it takes a million dollars.
“Name your price,” I said.
Kalel looked at me amusedly, a smirk playing on his luscious red lips. “You’ll pay me for helping you?” he asked like it wasn't that obvious already.
I grabbed my purse, ready to pull out my cheque book to write how much he wants from me.
I don't care even if he asks me for a million dollars because it’s just a penny to me.
“What do you think I’m doing?” I sarcastically replied.
He shrugged his shoulders amusedly.
I don't know if his main purpose of helping me is to irritate me but I genuinely don't have time to fuck around him. I have a bigger fish to fry. I have to make sure that the incident in the restaurant is going viral now.
“How about dinner?” he suggested.
My forehead creased.
“What?”
Kalel gave me a handsome smile. “Spend dinner with me as a thank you for saving you from embarrassment earlier,” he demanded.
I scoffed in disbelief.
I know exactly where this is going.
