Chapter 9 A Slip Up
Louis and I parted on a sour note after that day. I couldn't wrap my head around it. Why was he refusing to divorce me? He was in love with Amanda and despised me. Wouldn't a divorce be right up his alley? I couldn't understand him, but I no longer wanted to, either.
The following day, I moved out of our marital home. When Louis discovered this upon returning home, he called me.
"What the hell do you mean by this, Cassandra?"
"Isn't it obvious? We're divorcing soon. We can't keep living together," I said. "Hurry up and get the divorce papers drafted."
He hung up before I even finished speaking. I threw my phone onto the table when I realized it. I couldn't be bothered to deal with his attitude.
I'd just finished cleaning up my new place when someone knocked on the door. I thought it was a delivery, so I opened it without hesitation. To my surprise, I saw a fuming Louis outside.
My expression shifted. "What are you doing here? No, wait. How did you know I was staying here?"
