Chapter 10 Discovering the Truth
I was afraid Louis would figure out what was up and flung his hands aside. "Isn't that perfectly normal? People are bound to change after experiencing something so significant.
"Don't tell me you expect me to be the same old bootlicker I used to be. Do you want me to always be lowly and without any sense of self?"
His eyes glinted dangerously as he looked at me. He ignored the things I'd said to brush him off and silently snatched my phone. He tried to unlock it but found that the passcode was wrong.
He frowned. "Did you change the passcode?"
"Yeah. So what?"
"Your old passcode was my birth date." Louis looked at me icily, but I saw a hint of hurt flash in his eyes.
I didn't want to waste time arguing with him over these things. "Give me back my phone, Louis. I need to head inside to ask for some time off."
