Chapter 31

　　Serena's POV. 　　I ran outside, grabbing Richard's hands before he could get into his car. 　　"What's going on? Did I say or do something wrong?" I asked, my voice laced with concern. 　　Richard shook his head, his eyes blazing with anger. 　　"It's not about you," he growled. 　　I frowned, confusion etched on my face. "Then what is it?" I pressed. 　　Richard groaned, rubbing his hair backward in frustration. 　　"It's just... knowing that Ross did that to you... that you let him touch you..." His voice trailed off, his anger simmering just below the surface. 　　I felt a surge of defensiveness. 　　"Ross is my mate," I said, the words tumbling out of my mouth. 　　Richard's eyes flashed with anger. "Yes, I know he's your mate. That's what makes this so crazy to me." He took a step closer, his hands grasping my waist. "Ask him to reject you. You'll be happy with me," he whispered, his breath hot against my skin. "Make me your man, and I promise you won't regret it. I won't share you with anyone."
