Chapter 62: Don't Kick Me out of Bed in the Morning

Benjamin didn't comfort Sophia at all. After changing into his loungewear, he headed straight for the shower, leaving Sophia to whimper like a kitten, thinking she would eventually cry herself out of tears. Fifteen minutes later, Benjamin walked out, enveloped in a bath towel. His short, dark hair dripped with water droplets, and the contours of his face seemed more profound after the shower. Restless droplets trailed down his six-pack abs, disappearing under the towel around his lower abdomen. Sophia's sobbing intensified, her mouth opening and closing as she lamented, "Mom... why did you leave me behind... "Mom..." Drying his hair, Benjamin felt an inexplicable tightness in his chest listening to her cries. He approached the bed, looking down at Sophia curled up in a ball on it. She was clutching the blanket, half of her tiny face buried in it, leaving only the other half visible with furrowed brows. Tears rolled down her cheeks to her nose before landing on the pillow. Join
