Chapter 61: He Definitely Wouldn't Comfort Her
Hearing Sophia's impatient voice, Harper remained calm, speaking with a tone of concern, "It's nothing serious. I heard you were discharged from the hospital today, and I made this call to check on how you're doing."
Sophia didn't quite buy Harper's goodwill and responded perfunctorily, "That's thoughtful of you. I'm doing fine."
"Hmm, I can tell. You seem to be recovering well." Harper clearly had an ulterior motive for the call, "So, you should be able to return to work tomorrow, right?
"It's been over ten days since Charlotte left, and the planning department has been headless. Your father wants you back at the company to take over Charlotte's duties as soon as possible."
Sophia snorted coldly.
It was indeed bizarre. When did the Summit Bank start to crumble without her?
"Of course, I can." Well, her return was just meant to replace Charlotte. It was better to act sooner rather than later.
Harper chuckled softly, "That's wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow."
