Eliana wasn't buying into Vanessa's act of playing the victim. She retorted in a light tone, "Haven't I suffered enough from you since childhood? Weren't you the one who promised me an Italian designer dress? If you can't deliver, forgive me for not playing along with this charade." She stole her ex and then expected her to play along with the drama—did Vanessa really think it was that easy to manipulate everyone? Vanessa grew impatient. "But our wedding is scheduled for next month. If we wait for your dress, it'll be too late..." Surely they couldn't postpone her wedding date just for a bridesmaid! Vanessa looked helplessly at Jeremy, who had been silent all this time. "Jimmy, what do you think?" Ever since Jeremy saw them enter together, he felt a surge of discomfort. Was their decade-long relationship really comparable to a man she had only known for less than a month? His voice devoid of emotion. "Then let's postpone it until the dress arrives."
