Chapter 6
ALARIC'S POV
"We've checked everywhere, your highness, but she's nowhere to be found," Josh said as he barged into my room, panting and trying to hold his breath.
On hearing his report, I felt a sharp, painful sting in my head that resulted in me holding my desk for support, but the force of my hands on the desk was too much as the thick wood broke in no time, and I angrily threw the whole desk to the window, breaking and shattering the thick glass.
My hands were bleeding but I couldn't care less as I reached for the wall, banging my head on it and throwing punches at it as I tried to feel a pain that would be greater than the one I was feeling in my heart but it didn't come close to it.
Things just haven't been the same for me during these past 3 days without Lenora. Her absence from my life has drained me into becoming a monster. There was nothing I hadn't done to bring her home to me, but it felt like I wasn't doing anything that was worth it.
