Alisa was doing surprisingly well after giving birth. She had plenty of energy, alternating between bossing Julian around and putting me to work.
She knew how sensitive my situation was, so she hadn't told Jill about me. Whenever Jill came to visit, I made sure to stay out of sight. I wasn't ready to reveal myself—not now, maybe not for years.
