Luna seized my arm with one hand, her other hand clenching the envelope filled with blank pages as if it were a lifeline. Panic and worry swirled in her eyes.
"Just go ahead without me. I need to check things out," I said.
"Have you completely lost it because of your illness? What could possibly matter more than your own life?" She quickly pulled me away from the corridor.
As we entered the lobby of Norton Corporation, I took in the bustling crowd, and a flicker of confidence surged within me.
"Get Samuel here now," I said.
Luna was anxious about the contract signing. With a hint of confusion, she asked, "Why would you want to bring him here? It's too dangerous."
"Just take a good look at what you're holding. Then, think twice about what I'm saying."
As Luna opened the seal and pulled out what was meant to be the contract, I noticed her face go pale.
