Chapter 10 You Surprised Me, Mr. Sadler

“I can win,” Ivanka said confidently. And Jonah believed her. As he stared at the beautiful woman before him, he fell into a daze. Weren’t pretty women supposed to be empty in the head? Ivanka did not seem to be that sort of person. Jonah nodded and said gently, “Tell me what the condition is. If I’m able to fulfill it, I will do it.” Ivanka placed one of her hands on the table and started tapping arrhythmically on the wood. She looked at Jonah and smiled as she said, “I heard that the former master of the Morris family will hold his birthday banquet in ten days.” Jonah sized her up. “Yes.” Ivanka tilted her head slightly. She asked with a grin, “Do you have a plus one?” A trace of surprise flashed in Jonah’s eyes. The next moment, he chuckled. “The pleasure is mine. I’ll pick you up at night. Give me your address.” Ivanka took a sip of her fruit juice. Her cherry lips were moistened by the liquid. She then pursed her lips and said with a smile, “That’ll be boring. I’ll go to your house, and we can depart from there.” Suki was puzzled. She was absolutely dumbfounded. Only one thought remained in her mind. “What is Iris up to? “Mr. Sadler is a wolf clothed in a sheep’s skin. I’ve heard that he’s a womanizer and your bona fide scum! He’s worse than Michael! “At the very least, Michael is only devoted to Chiara, but Jonah changes his girlfriends like a woman changes her clothes! “Iris can easily get an invitation to the banquet with her identity as a lawyer. Why did she have to go together with Jonah and even depart from his house?!” Suki felt restless. She did not want her innocent friend to be “devoured” by this wolf, hence she kicked Ivanka with her foot. However, Ivanka did not show her any response even after a long time had passed. Suki grew increasingly agitated. She kicked Ivanka harder while keeping her eyes fixed on her. Meanwhile, Jonah stared at Ivanka. He was not curious to know what she was up to, and he just smiled. “Sure.” Ivanka gave Suki a reassuring look before nodding. “Mr. Sadler, when do you plan to appeal?” Jonah pondered over her question for a moment before saying with a grin, “I think it’s best to appeal after the birthday banquet. Wouldn’t that be more interesting?” Suki fell speechless, but her mind was racing. “What on earth are these two doing? Jonah’s assistant even told me today that they needed to solve the case urgently, so what’s going on? “Ah! I got it! “Jonah is planning to let Michael know that Ivanka is his plus one before appealing to court! Then, while they’re in the court room, he wants to have Michael see that the lawyer he hired is his ex! “Wow! “What a vindictive guy!” Ivanka rose with a smile. “Mr. Sadler, I’ll leave it to you to settle the date to bring this to court. Since we’ve reached a mutual agreement on this matter, I’ll go back and prepare the documents. Thank you for treating me to lunch.” Jonah narrowed his eyes. The dashing woman in front of him was completely different from all the women he met in the past. In fact, Ivanka exuded some kind of aura that kept his attention fixed on her. Indeed, Jonah’s attention was fixed on Ivanka during the entire time they had lunch together. He took out his phone and smiled at her. “Since we are getting along so well, can I have your number?” Ivanka snickered. She took out her phone and teased him, “I’m surprised you’re such a person, Mr. Sadler.” She did not think that someone as experienced with women as Jonah would pick up girls this way. Of course, he could not possibly pick a divorced woman. Jonah recorded her number and looked up at her with a smile, “What sort of person should I be, then?”
