CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE - When Morning Brings No Comfort Here
Nia chewed on her lip, her gaze fixed on the small screen. The house was a hive of activity, with people coming and going at all hours. It was clear this was the nerve center of Morrow's operation.
"Wait, there." Sanders pointed to one of the vehicles, his eyes narrowing. "That's one of Morrow's known associates."
Nia leaned in, her heart racing. "Can we get a clearer shot of the license plate?"
The detective nodded, tapping a few keys on the console. "Working on it... Got it. Sending that intel to the team for analysis."
Nia felt a glimmer of hope. "Maybe that'll give us a lead on where Morrow's holed up."
Sanders let out a weary sigh. "I hope so. We need to shut this thing down before anyone else gets hurt."
Nia's gaze drifted to the hospital in the distance, her mind filled with worry for Leon. "How's the security there holding up?"
"Tight as a drum," Sanders assured her. "Your friend Maria has been a godsend, helping us coordinate the surveillance and communication."
