CHAPTER 96 AUTUMN LEAVES FALLING
The first sign of fall was in the morning air when Jenna left the house and took a mug of coffee on the porch. The fog was rising just above the ground and the whole world had a somewhat surreal look to it. The trees in their compound were budding and the green of the summer was fading slowly to the red, orange, yellow of the autumn . The sight brought a lot of memories to Jenna and also that feeling of elation that she always associated with fall.
She enjoyed the warm, smooth taste of the coffee she was taking in and out of her mouth. Lily was inside the house watching one of her favorite cartoons and the only thing she could hear from where she sat was her laughter. Ryan was still in bed, he had slept right through the morning and it was now past noon. Jenna liked such stillness and what was considered the pre-dawn, which was still early in her day.
