CHAPTER FIFTY – LUXURIOUS TASTES

The lounge was alive with music and laughter when they arrived. Couples swayed on the dance floor, while others gathered around the bar, sipping colorful cocktails. "Come on," Sophia said, pulling Rebecca towards the dance floor. "Let's show these people how it's done!" For the next hour, Rebecca lost herself in the music, dancing and laughing with Sophia and the other guests. For the first time since leaving Gilda's Bay, she felt truly free. As the night wore on, Rebecca found herself at the bar, sipping a virgin mojito and chatting with an elderly couple who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. "So, young lady," the husband, George, said with a twinkle in his eye, "what's your secret to staying so energetic on the dance floor?" Rebecca laughed. "I guess it's all those years of kneading dough in the bakery. Builds up quite a bit of stamina!" His wife, Martha, leaned in conspiratorially. "Well, whatever it is, you've certainly caught the eye of that handsome young man
