CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO – THE LESS YOU KNOW
Alexis and Milo exchanged a look that Rebecca couldn't quite decipher.
"Important enough," Alexis said cryptically. "But it's best not to dwell on the details. In this business, the less you know, the better."
They lapsed into silence as the truck continued its journey through the darkened countryside. Rebecca found her eyelids growing heavy, the adrenaline of the day finally wearing off.
She must have dozed off because the next thing she knew, Milo was gently shaking her awake.
"Rise and shine, sleeping beauty. We've arrived at our five-star accommodations for the evening."
Rebecca blinked, taking in her surroundings. They were parked in front of a small, nondescript house on the outskirts of what looked like a much smaller town.
"Where are we?" she asked, her voice groggy.
"About twenty kilometers from the airport," Alexis answered. "You'll stay here tonight, and in the morning, I'll drive you to catch your flight back to Italy."
As they entered the house, Rebecca was struck
