I was dumbfounded at the information. Rebecca sighed. "Oh, that girl. She needs to buck up now, or she'll regret it down the road. Who knows? She might still stand a chance with you."
I had wanted to announce that there was no chance of Isabelle and I getting back together, but the empty bowl of minestrone soup seemed to contradict my statement. So, I decided not to bring it up at all.
After lunch, I wanted to give Rebecca a tour of the neighborhood. She had previously mentioned her interest in a villa tour, but in the end, I saw her out because she was too busy for a tour.
