I glanced at Jerome and declined the call without a second thought. Since we had broken up, it was best to keep our distance. Holding onto a connection would only lead to more hurt and complications. Nothing good would come out of it. Jerome clinked his glass against mine. "How about taking a break and getting some fresh air? I'd risk my life just to keep you company." I chuckled at that. "Why would you need to risk your life to hang out with me? No thanks, though. I have a business trip for a few days. I'll treat it like a getaway." "A business trip? Where to?" "Havenrock City." The next day, I packed my things and headed to Havenrock City for work. As soon as I got off the bus, I received a call from Jerome. "How's Havenrock City? Would you like me to join you and keep you company?" "I'm here for work. I won't have time to hang out with you." He must be getting bored in Solaria City and wanted an excuse to go on a trip. Hence, under the pretext of accompanying me, he
