Chapter 36
"He is, despite everything."
I turned my head to look at Marcus Mo's smiling face. He never really smiled at me before. He always had a cold look on his face. It's the first time he really smiled at me, the first time he seemed happy in my company.
"Was it good?" Marcus Mo asked me with a low smile.
"I don’t know, how can I tell?"
I turned my head to one side and found that it was dark outside. I sat up and began to put on my clothes.
"It's so late. How's Joy?"
I got out of bed in a hurry and ran to the opposite side. Joy was lying on the sofa, sleeping. The nanny had dozed off beside her.
Groggily, the nanny stood up and exclaimed, "Miss Tang, you are back at last. I need to go. My family is waiting for me."
I apologized and paid her extra, in addition to the two days she had looked after my daughter. I carried Joy to the room.
