Settling Things.
Amara’s car was parked across the street from Melanie’s house. It had been a minute since she arrived and she hadn’t even turned off the engine.
She was hesitant.
She had come all this way and was now in the position to get out of the car and go see her best friend.
But a part of her was scared.
‘What if Melanie was still angry and doesn’t want to see her?’ She thought.
Ah, her heart clenched.
She wasn’t sure she could handle rejection at the moment. But then again, she really didn’t want to leave things unsettled between them both.
She couldn’t bear the thought of going all the way to Italy and Melanie was still pissed.
That was the last thing she wanted.
She needed to do this.
So, taking a deep breath, she turned off the engine, and, grabbing her purse, stepped out of the car.
Crossing the road, she went to Melanie’s front door and rang the bell.
She waited, her heart beating a little too fast and her palms getting a little sweaty. Ah, it had been a while since she had been this nerv
