“Amara,” The sound of Elijah’s voice caused the younger woman to turn her attention back to him.
She stared at him, watching the hopeful and expectant expression he wore. He didn’t say anything more, but she knew, he was waiting. Everyone was waiting and she…she was stalling unnecessary.
Unconsciously, her eyes gravitated back to where Tobias stood. She didn’t know why, but she stared, looked in his direction for the briefest moment as if expecting some sort of reaction from him.
A reaction that never came and yet again, Amara was left with this inexplicable feeling. Feeling stupid for expecting something even she couldn’t put her finger on.
Turning her attention back to Elijah, she felt that feeling dwindle a bit at the sight of his face.
So expectant, so happy, yet, reflecting how much of a bad person she was.
Yet, even with that established in the back of her mind, Amara couldn’t turn back now.
