Chapter 5 That Mute Woman

Tamara hurriedly got into the car. She carefully picked the side farthest from Sebastian. The atmosphere within the car was tense. Tamara twiddled her fingers and hung her head low. Even so, it could not obscure her beauty. Sebastian could not help but remember the night he had with her. Her skin was smooth but was bruised wherever he laid his hand upon. She was so… weak! The car slowly drove into the residential area of Skarrowlilt Grove. This was the best place to stay in Londsville as there was enough space between each villa to ensure maximum privacy. The car stopped in front of a villa. The driver got down and helped the passengers out. Sebastian headed inside wordlessly with Tamara following close behind. "Welcome back, Mr. Lynch." The housekeeper, Ms. Thompson, greeted them. Sebastian walked past her without a word. Ms. Thompson’s gaze fell onto Tamara. She was surprised. This was the first time Sebastian had brought a woman home. Even though he had had a girlfriend before, he had never brought her home. "Hello," Ms. Thompson greeted her kindly. Tamara pursed her lips and nodded before walking passed her. Ms. Thompson was taken aback by this. What was wrong with the girl? Why didn’t she utter a single word? Once inside, Sebastian was nowhere to be found. Tamara stood helplessly in the gray-toned living room. Ms. Thompson could not wrap her mind over what was happening. She offered, "Please have a seat, miss. I’ll bring you some water." Tamara nodded and signed her thanks to Ms. Thompson. Ms. Thompson widened her eyes in surprise. Sign language? So the girl was mute? Tamara smiled at her and looked as pure as an angel. Ms. Thompson’s heart melted at the sight of this. It was then followed by sadness. Ms. Thompson gave Tamara a look of pity. She was such a beautiful girl, but she was mute. Life must have been hard for her. Tamara held the cup of water and carefully drank from it. She was weirded out by Ms. Thompson’s stare. She had never left her house. Naturally, she wouldn’t know how others would treat someone like her. Ms. Thompson didn’t know what to do with Tamara. She got upstairs and knocked on the master bedroom door. "Mr. Lynch." "Yes?" A low voice sounded from inside. Ms. Thompson could hear the displeasure in his response. "What should I do with the young lady?" Although Ms. Thompson was clueless about Sebastian’s mood, she stood her ground and asked. It was silent inside the bedroom. Ms. Thompson thought Sebastian must have not heard her and was planning to repeat her question when all of a sudden, the bedroom door swung open. Sebastian walked down the stairs menacingly and stood in front of Tamara. Ms. Thompson saw the dark look on Sebastian's face and sighed. He was clearly angry. Tamara blinked at Sebastian, clueless. Staring at her innocent face, Sebastian got even more agitated. She was a scheming bitch, so why was she always feigning innocence in front of men? Could this be a plot? Was she trying to gain his pity? Not in a million years would she succeed! "You’ve got what you came for. Why don't you flaunt your victory? You’re now the mistress of the house. This must be good news for a bitch like you," Sebastian mocked coldly.
