Vergil snatched the phone from Susie's hands in one swift motion. Susie asked, "What are you doing?" "Pick one," Vergil said, glancing briefly at her message list. He noticed that the pinned contact labeled "Trivial Gossip Buddy" had sent two messages, so he casually repositioned the phone and deleted them. He knew it was from Victoria. Susie blinked in confusion. She didn't notice his actions. "Pick one? What do you mean?" Vergil asked, "Do you want me, or do you want your phone?" He didn't let her suspect anything. "Of course, I choose my phone," Susie said, standing up and taking the phone back. "If I picked you, who knows what your girlfriends would be saying behind my back." Vergil didn't dare to reply. Susie wasn't interested in her parents' personal lives, as long as they stayed out of her business. She said, "If there's nothing important, I'm leaving." Vergil thought about someone's request and continued to delay. "Do you know that Victoria and Leon are divorced?
